you will enjoy the beautiful nature of Bulgaria on off-road roads, you will get to picturesque corners and rivers in Stara Planina, you will visit a traditional and authentic Bulgarian home, where you will witness the process of wool processing and lemonade production.
on the way to the top of the mountain, we will first pass by the TV tower, then through virgin terrain, beautiful and hard-to-reach areas, rivers and forests.
we will stop for a well-deserved short break at 'Saint Constantine and Helena', a small chapel known for its holy water.
if you are interested, you can test your shooting abilities with a rifle /air gun/ or a bow at targets, but only in places suitable for the purpose.
our next stop will be in a really old little village called Erkech – nowadays also called Kozichino. With its many authentic houses, one of which is now a museum, the local people manage to preserve their history, traditions and language.
the name of the village is said to come from the two Turkish words "erken" and "gech", meaning "pass and go" or "pass faster". That was the way the Turks called it to keep one thing in mind.
founded around the 5th-6th century AD. , the village was well known for its strong, uncompromising and independent local people living there.
old stories say that a Turkish foot was never allowed to sleep at night in the village because it did not live to see the next day. The locals still remember.
in 1900, the first machine for the production of lemonade (a traditional Bulgarian drink) was installed and began to function in the village, and it is still the case to this day.
those who wish can join in making it using the same old technology. So the tasting will be even sweeter.
