the Hagia Sophia Basilica in Nessebar, also known as the Old Metropolis, was built at the end of the 5th or the beginning of the 6th century, during the Byzantine Empire.
built of bricks and stones, it was richly decorated with mosaics and frescoes, a small part of which have been preserved to this day. The temple has an exposed central dome, which was probably covered with a wooden structure.
